In Paris, there is a plenty of wine shops and wine bars where you can buy some bottles but also drink the bottle on the spot. From small cavistes to iconic wine shops, you can always enter, try and let the professional guide you to a wine journey. And of course, in any restaurant or brasserie, you’ll be offered to check on the Wine list. Our favorite place to sip a fresh glass of Rosé: Les Caves Nysa, 94 Rue Montorgueil, 75002 Paris. As Paris takes wine very seriously, there is few celebrations you should not miss while traveling to the City of Light.

MONTMARTRE

Mostly famous for its Sacré-Cœur, Montmartre is as well home to the one and only one Parisian wine. Few steps from the Place du Tertre, you can find Paris wine-producing vineyard. If you are visiting Paris in October, head to Montmartre for the annual harvest festival. You’ll get to test wine from dozens of local vineyard and experience a unique day in the Clos Montmartre. Try the local wine at La Cave des Abbesses, 43 rue des Abbesses, 75018 Paris.

ALL OVER PARIS – Celebrate the Beaujolais Nouveau

Every year on the third Thursday of November, the Beaujolais Nouveau is released and each wine shop celebrate with music, wine tasting and snacks. Wander from a shop to another and celebrate the red Vin de primeur. The best place to street party and drink wine: Rue Daguerre, 75014 Paris. You’ll find many great wine shops! Not planning on traveling to Paris around Autumn? Don’t worry, if Paris is always a good idea, so is a good glass of wine. Sitting by the docks of the River Seine, at the terrace of a bistro or in your cosy rental apartment, buy a good bottle of vin rose, blanc ou rouge and enjoy Paris!

“A MEAL WITHOUT CHEESE IS LIKE A DAY WITHOUT SUNSHINE”, EAT CHEESE IN PARIS

FROMAGERIES

There are a (large) number of ways to shop for cheese in Paris. As a foreigner, you are probably not used to it and don’t know where to start and what to buy. The good thing is that most cheesemongers in the city will be more than thrilled to help you select the perfect cheeses and even taste them! Taste as many slices of cheese as you want in a local cheese shop: La Fermette, 86 rue Montorgueil, 75002 Paris.

AT THE RESTAURANT

Yes, it is true. French people love to eat cheese at anytime of the day or night. One of Parisians’ most favorite thing to do is to sit at a cafe and to order a plate of cheese and a bottle of wine.

AT THE SUPERMARKET

Since you are staying in an incredible apartment in the middle of Paris with a fully equipped kitchen, you have the possibility to store cheese in the refrigerator.  All the fromageries are closed? Pas de panique ! Go down to the supermarket and pick a good fromage de chèvre, some emmental and a slice of Roquefort. To delight your taste buds, add to it some jam and raisins. You are all set for an authentic Parisian night in your perfect rental apartment !
